7 Signs That You Are a Workaholic
Posted On Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at на 1:03 AM by adminWhile most of us have career goals and ambitions, the way we go about achieving it differs significantly. For many, the drive to success leads them to work long hours, losing sleep and generally neglect their personal life. Other success through prioritization, delegation and organization. Yes, what kind of achiever are you? If you suffer from any combination of the following symptoms, you just might be the former, otherwise known as a "workaholic" .
1. They work evenings and weekends in addition to your normal working hours. Determine what impact these extra hours are with your family alive, and decide whether it is really worthwhile for you to be missing, family and friends.
2. They rarely take holidays and if you do, you work. Everyone needs some time off to relax and refresh their minds. In fact most of us work better after a vacation, because we feel less stressed and more focused on our return.
3. Your thoughts are consumed with the work. You can not make it through a school play or an evening with friends, without checking your e-mail, voice mail or blackberry.
4. You are not on the lives of your family and friends. Do you know the name of your child's favorite Teddy bears, or your spouse's favorite book or TV show? When was the last time you had dinner with your best friend?
5. You have no time to relax. When was the last time you took a bath, read a book or went to a movie? Without taking time for themselves in regelmaigen intervals, all you are sure to reach burn-out.
6. Treat yourself stressed. If you decide to read a book or a movie, you will find you can not relax because you feel that you should working.
7. They are having family problems because of your persistent absences. If your spouse or children resent you because you are not around, it is time, some changes.
Workaholics are in fact rather than to success. They are in fact much more likely to reach burn-out 'status before it happens. In fact, experts agree that the vast majority of successful individuals are not workaholics, but that they have learned how to prioritize and delegate. If you are a workaholic, it's not too late to change. Letting Go by some of your lower priority tasks does not mean the end of your work in connection with ambitions and in fact might only help in achieving the goals you were trying to realize.
